Adam's career in food started by accident. Aged 16, a missed train led to him washing dishes at a friend's family restaurant. He never really left the kitchen after that.
Adam went on to cook at some of London's most acclaimed restaurants, including Wild Honey and Chiltern Firehouse, before making the move to Yorkshire, his wife Emily's homeland. A stint as Head Chef at Horto at Rudding Park earned him three AA Rosettes and an appearance on Great British Menu.
In May 2024, Adam opened FIFTY TWO, a project that feels entirely his own. Less than two years later, it became Harrogate's first ever Michelin-starred restaurant.
Adam currently lives in York with Emily and their sons Jacob and Reuben.

Emma tends the 52 raised beds, the glasshouse and the polytunnel that sit at the very heart of FIFTY TWO produce. She has a cocktail named after her, that’s how much we love Emma.
Calum, Sommelier & Host
Calum arrived at FIFTY TWO via 22 Yards in York, and the Orchid and makes the drinks pairing feel like an extension of the meal.
